At ZURA, we take pride in the skill and nurturing style of our teachers. While each teacher has unique gifts to bring to leading the practice of hot yoga or any of our many movement classes, they share a common goal: to make the class accessible for all – from the new student to the experienced practitioner. Our teachers focus on proper alignment and injury prevention while helping students realize the amazing benefits that can come with moving the body with intention and awareness.
Rebecca joined the Be Evolution community as a student ten years ago and has been teaching Fusion and Hot 26 classes for the last five years. She has a performance background in dance, theater and music and it is from her core foundation in yoga, athletic movement and dance that her vision for ZURA developed. From the beginning, Rebecca was eager to build a studio where experienced yoga practitioners and those new to yoga could explore and celebrate their yoga practice while complementing it with other movement modalities. In realizing this vision, Rebecca has assembled a strong group of yoga teachers, dance teachers and movement/strengthening specialists. She has also welcomed renowned artist, Siona Benjamin, into the ZURA home. It is Siona’s stunning mandalas, goddesses and other works that grace many of the studio walls. Rebecca and her husband, Bob (also co-owner of ZURA), raised their two children in Montclair where they lived for twenty years before moving to their current home in Verona.
Cassie has an extensive dance background in both ballet and modern dance, training and performing from a young age into her college years. While fairly new to Hot Yoga, she has practiced yoga (Iyangar, Anusara and Vinyasa flow) for more than ten years, beginning her practice soon after the birth of her second child. She and her husband, Scott (co-owner of ZURA as well), have four children and two dogs (a bulldog and terrier mutt). Cassie posts humorous and poignant dialogs she has with her husband, children and dogs on her blog: QueenBeePost. The Bollinger family has lived in Montclair for almost twenty years, but had a brief two-year stint in northern California. While living in California, Cassie practiced yoga at a remarkable two-studio yoga space that soon became her home away from home. She tried to use that California experience in helping Rebecca realize her vision for the ZURA space.
