Ruth has been working in Education for over 20 years. She began her teaching career with a Montessori Diploma and then pursued a degree in Art and Education at the Roehampton Institute of London. After moving to the US in 2006, Ruth developed connection and community through her love of art, yoga and teaching. She became a 500hr Registered Yoga Teacher, a Certified Grounded Kids Yoga Teacher and a Teacher Trainer.
In addition to teaching at yoga studios, Ruth has been involved in bringing a variety of yoga programs and classes to Elementary Schools in Nutley, Glen Ridge, Montclair, Rutherford and Newark since 2013. During the 2016-2017 school year, she was part of a pilot study at Rutgers School of Nursing – Toxic Stress and Yoga in Pre-school Children.
Ruth combines her passions to create a safe and secure place where children can empower themselves with their actions, become more confident and connected, and elevate their sense of who they are in this world.
Through yoga and mindfulness techniques, the CORE Yoga for Youth program aims to increase focus and attention, support social and emotional learning, and help children establish a deep sense of compassion towards self and others. We believe that every child has the capacity to learn these skills but not without being balanced and centered in themselves first. The CORE Yoga for Youth Program is dedicated to empowering children by teaching them about their whole self and who they are at their core. Our holistic approach helps both children and adults learn about their physical body, nervous system, brain function and most importantly, how to harness the power of the breath.
