Jill (RYT 500) began exploring yoga, nutritional healing and Eastern philosophies as a teenager, delving deeper into those interests while studying International Relations in college, then living and traveling through Asia and Europe in the 1990s.

She completed her 200-hour training at Sacred Sounds Yoga in NYC, followed by a 300-hour advanced training at Ignite Yoga in NJ.

Her practice is deeply influenced by Ashtanga, a disciplined, vigorous, meditative practice which profoundly changed her life in 2000 as it helped her balance the pressures of life and work.  A few years later, she stepped into NYC Jivamukti studio and was immediately drawn to its combination of physical vigor, soulful motivation and social activism.  

Jill’s classes are infused with warmth, sincerity and an eclectic mix of music. She incorporates the ancient spiritual, physical and philosophical principles of yoga into every class.  You will experience a dynamic, mindful practice that connects the flow of breath with every movement, offers clear alignment cues and encourages students to embrace the possibility of freedom and change.

Practicing yoga is Jill’s passion; she considers teaching an honor and privilege.  She hopes that her classes will help others discover the practical and uplifting system of self-healing and transformation that yoga continues to offer her.

Come to the mat prepared to get out of your head!  We will chant, breathe deeply and move vigorously through flowing asanas in Zura’s Warm Power Vinyasa classes. Expect to leave the mat enlivened with a greater sense of inner peace, strength and compassion.
