Emily Eley, a Vermont native, moved to New Jersey in the fall of 2017. Prior to moving to NJ, she taught Hatha yoga at studios in VT as well as running her own studio. Emily completed her 500 hour teacher certification in 2013 and is also a certified personal trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Her teaching focuses on moving the body in order to find steadiness and ease (Sthira Sukham Asanam). Emily enjoys teaching a blend of traditional Hatha, focused on pranayama and meditation, and power vinyasa with an emphasis on core engagement. She teaches the Power Vinyasa Hour at Zura as well as playful workshops that explore inversions and arm balances. Emily and her husband live in Montclair with their two cats, Zucchini and Lima Bean. When they’re not out exploring the woods on their mountain bikes, they can be found eating the immensely diverse range of food NJ and NYC have to offer.
